More than 3,000 anglers from 24 states will fish in the Gulf of Mexico for three days for more than $400,000 in cash and prizes in 30 categories. Last year’s event made the Guinness World Records for world's largest fishing tournament.

W.C. Handy Music Festival

Florence | Jul 20-28, 2012

Jazz and blues tunes will fill the Shoals in this weeklong tribute to the “Father of the Blues,” W.C. Handy, as artists perform at restaurants, theaters, malls, parks and other locations. More than 100 events are scheduled, perfect for jazz enthusiasts and families too. Hours vary.

26th Annual World’s Longest Yard Sale
